10 Years!

Happy Anniversary (yesterday)! I can't believe it's been 10 years. It seems like yesterday, yet so long ago. We didn't go anywhere spectacular to celebrate but had a nice night out to celebrate (we went to Flagstaff last month for a friend's wedding and "counted" that as our trip). Here's what I remember from our first 10 years:

1. Always put the toilet paper with the paper going over, not under
2. I never realized that the decision of which side of the bed you choose to sleep on when you're first married is one that you'd better like for the next 50+ years
3. If I love something for dinner, don't have it all the time or you'll grow to hate it....
4. Never make ham and macaroni salad for dinner again, ever.
5. Never misplace a chocolate bar and then eat the whole thing yourself once it's found (or atleast never fess up that you hid one)
6. Too many girls in the family = daddy does not like, nor appreciate shopping (he sees $$$$)
7. You think that it's strange to eat pie for breakfast the day after Thanksgiving. Someone's gotta eat the leftover's, right?
9. Husband's will always be better at video games than their wives, it's the law. (If you do find one that you're better at, play it as much as you can)
10. That I love you a google + infinity!

Do not let your 2 year old turn the mixer on when making cookies. We were making sugar cookies on Sunday afternoon and the girls were "helping". Sydney wanted to turn the mixer on. Instead, she turned the button to pulse, and when adding flour, it's not a great idea. At the moment it seemed like it was happening in slow motion but in a split second there was flour covering almost every square inch of my kitchen.

*Aubrey, this is karma from our Halloween cookies a few years ago.

Kids Say the Darndest Things...Especially This One!

We were walking in the garden section at Lowe's and McKenna was looking at the flowers and said "these flowers are bisquisite".

McKenna provides the comic relief for our family and is always saying the funniest things (a few years ago she decided that she'd call Gordon B. Hinckley, Hinkle Dinkle).

Weekend Getaway

Chris and I took Corbin on a spur of the moment weekend getaway to Newport Beach. We had lots of fun and enjoyed the view of the ocean and the sunsets from the balcony of our place.

We had a fun Valentines Day by celebrating Sydney's Birthday! This was the first year that she was very excited about her birthday. On Madison's and McKenna's birthday she kept on asking for it to be her turn...and it finally was.

All About the Allred's

Chris- Is currently the only male in our family. He loves anything that has to do with boys (sports, video games, computer games)!

Kristina- Being busy with our 3 girls (and a boy soon), I have forgotten what I actually like to do. I spend my time taking kids from here to there, helping with homework, doing my own work (I work part time from home), cooking, and trying to keep the house, children, and husband from a state of utter chaos.

Madison is almost 7. She is in 1st grade and loves to read. She sneaks books into her room at night and is never asleep before 10pm. She wakes up with a book in her hand and reads while eating. Madison is our "OCD" child and is always concerned with where things are. She cannot go to sleep if she doesn't know where something is (reminds me of myself).

McKenna- is almost 5 and is in preschool. McKenna is a great helper and always needs to be doing something. McKenna is great at puzzles, coloring, loves being outside, and as she says her talents are "watching tv and eating candy".

Sydney-is almost 2. Sydney is a mama's girl. She follows me around the house the entire day. She loves baby dolls, coloring with markers, climbing on everything, and walking around with dress up shoes, or raiding mommy's closet and getting out all the high heels.
